Jane Fitch's Art & Bio
Earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University, Jane pursued her love of art in all media. Further private study with a wide variety of numerous artists revealed a passion for watercolor, which Jane has exclusively concentrated on for the past 40 years.
Her philosophy and love of watercolor painting is based on the unique interaction of paint, water and paper which create a variety of interesting designs. Watercolor techniques result in surprising and exciting interpretations of subject matter
Jane has won awards and commissions in Florida and Virginia, as well as Arkansas, where Jane and her husband lived in retirement in Eureka Springs and later in Hot Springs Village . Now, returned to the area from Virginia, Jane has rejoined the Artists' Workshop Gallery.
Jane's art reflects her love of animals, in particular Oaklawn racing scenes. Her donkey series and pet portrait commissions capture the essence of each animal and show Jane's passion about each. The Arkansas flora and fauna offer unlimited inspiration and joy to the artist.
