Teri Hick's Art & Bio
Teri Hicks is an Arkansas native who grew up in Greenwood. She is a self-taught artist who finds joy and inspiration in painting with acrylics and watercolors.
She joined the Air Force after high school and traveled the US and Europe before ending up back in Arkansas in 1993. She and her husband, Phil, are retired now and living in Mount Ida, Arkansas, where she enjoys boating and fishing on Lake Ouachita, and, of course, painting.
When her four children were small, she painted Christmas ornaments with them and then started painting pictures for their rooms. When friends saw what she was doing, they would ask her to paint for them and she discovered that her art evoked emotion and connection. As well as painting on canvas from her studio, she also enjoys painting live, at weddings. She is a member of the Ouachita Artists Gallery as well as Artists’ Workshop Gallery.
