Joanne Kunath retired to Arkansas from California in 2005.  Her creativity has been inspired and stimulated by the natural beauty of Arkansas and the four distinct seasons.  The flora and fauna of the area make up many of Joanne’s paintings.  Her motivation is to discover and recreate through her paintings the special beauty, energy, and passion that she finds in nature.
 
Joanne has won many awards and prizes in local juried art shows.  Her work can be viewed daily at the Artists’ Workshop Gallery, and is available for purchase there.  Besides AWG, Joanne  participates with Brushstrokes, Arkansas Pastel Society, and The Artistics.
 
Artist’s Statement:
 
“Art gives me freedom to express my innermost thoughts.  Creating a painting relieves many of my emotions, such as loneliness, anger, joy, and hope.  Applying brilliant colors to a canvas, pastel board, or paper gives me a sense of worth.  Color enhances energy and beauty.  As I continue to create colorful paintings, I hope I can inspire and give enjoyment to others.”
