Jessie Roundy's Art and Bio
When Jessie Roundy was a young child, no older than the age of 5, she discovered her biggest fear. Time. To her, time was more than a clock on the wall. It meant a never-ending circle of death. After struggling to express her fear through words, she learned to draw. Creating art is the way she was able to express how she truly feels and was able to cope with the reality of death. As time went on, she stuck to her passion of art and started experimenting with a variety of media, which allowed her style to grow. She eventually got her Associates of Arts degree from Western Wyoming Community College. In July of 2022, she moved to Arkansas with the hope of being able to fully start her journey in becoming a full-time artist. Jessie Roundy today is a young mom who understands the hardships that life has to offer and continues to express that through her art. She uses deep and complex imagery to invoke states of contemplation and inquiry. Although Roundy is best known for her surreal paintings, she also has a skill set in photography, ceramics, and wire sculptures. She hopes to continue to create so that one day the world can see through her eyes. Her artwork may be seen in Artists Workshop Gallery, Whittington Gallery and Ouachita Artists Gallery and Studio.
