Teresa Widdifield's Art & Bio
Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Teresa Widdifield began her artistic journey as a stained-glass artist designing large structural pieces over 30 years ago. As her creative side progressed, she was drawn to fine art where she “found her voice”.
Teresa, a Hot Springs Village resident since 1996 is the owner of Teresa – Art Diva !, an art studio specializing in figurative women and pet portraits.
In her pet portraits Teresa paints the animals close up, giving great detail and interpretation to the eyes. She works from photos and ideally wants to meet the animal whenever possible to fully incorporate its personality into the painting. She also paints a lot of portraits from pictures posthumously.
Her figurative ladies portray femininity in alluring poses. One of her series entitled “Women in Art” depicts women playing orchestral instruments with a flair of light and color.
She often paints in Sedona, Arizona where she has a 2nd home. Teresa is a nature lover and loves finding “secret grottos” and hidden places to reveal through her art.
She regularly accepts commissioned work. Her preferred mediums are oil, pastel and acrylic, Additionally Teresa paints and teaches watercolor batik. a technique using oriental Ginwashi paper and hot wax.
Teresa is a member of Artist Workshop Gallery in downtown Hot Springs and Brush Strokes Fine Art Club. She has also exhibited at Garvan Woodland Gardens and the Coronado Center among others.
